Junior High School Third Grade NELP Small Group Presentations

This week the junior high school third grade NELP students had small group presentations. In our reading class, we just read an interview with William Kamkwamba, a man from Malawi, Africa who, at age 14, built a windmill for his family, our topics were about energy and helping our families.
The students had their choice of three topics. The easy topic was about what we do to help our family or community. The intermediate topic was about living “off the grid”, meaning being self-sufficient in power, water, and so on. The advanced topic was about the viability of alternative energy sources.
Students were graded on quality of presentation, as well as on their ability to ask questions and give feedback to other speakers.
